Pho Phuong Vietnamese Restaurant Review

1603 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON · Liberty Village & Parkdale

1/5 Avoid

My girlfriend and I had this on June 17, 2023 - ordered via Ubereats.

Update: Looking at our UberEats order (as proof it was from Pho Phuong) it was not Pho soup, but… “Bun Bo Hue” soup. STILL, the worst tasting soup ever. So we wouldn’t even try getting Pho from this restaurant.

Vietnamese soup is supposed to be comforting soup that’s savoury and rich, but at same time refreshing.

This soup from Pho Phuong was not that. This is literally the worst soup we’ve ever tasted, and extremely inauthentic Vietnamese. If you took piece of an old brown leather shoe (the chewy tasting sliced processed beef), processed pork, and then threw in some green onions, rice noodles, and wilted bean sprouts and herbs, fake hoisin sauce, and off tasting fish sauce instead of bone to make a broth — this would be the soup you’d get. Never mind that there was no hint of ginger, star anise, cloves, lemongrass, or cilantro. It was NOT delicious.

As for the photo:
I put it in a bowl, tasted it, tasted it again…then strained the ingredients and threw the broth down the sink and the rest of the stuff in the trash where it belonged.

My girlfriend didn’t like the “Com Suon Nuong...” either, because all the meat tasted “old”.

What is this restaurant really about?!
