Seven Mile Beach Review

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

5/5 Editor's Pick

Royal Palms is no more, and neither is Calico Jacks. However, the beach area on Seven Mile Beach is still free, and there was no seaweed problem when we were there in May 2023. You can access the beach through the old Royal Palms site (on the left side), or the old Calico Jacks site. Go after 3pm, when the cruise ship crowd has left. The beach is still very beautiful, with crystal clear blue waters.

Remember, the beach is free. You don't have to pay to go to the beach. However, certain hotels on the beach, the new set-up where Royal Palms use to be, and makeshift "entrance" areas will try to charge you for using the bathrooms, chairs, and whatnot and will try to milk the disoriented cruise ship crowd out of their money.

PRO Tip:

If you are a cruise ship passenger who wants to save money and just enjoy the sun and take a dip, you can enter through any hotel on the beach. Simply proceed straight through the lobby area to the beach, bringing your own towels, food, and drinks. If anyone asks where you are headed, just mention the "free beach area." Once on the beach, find a spot away from the hotel beach service area and set up your belongings. No one can prevent you from enjoying the sun on the free beach area. OR, you can pay for a day pass, and get a chair, and pay for food and drink service on the hotel beach area.
