Cayman Cabana continues to hold its title as one of the best spots in George Town for fresh flavorful Caribbean food and laid-back island vibes. We came back and once again the ambiance location and overall energy did not disappoint. Sitting there at night with the warm breeze colorful lights and cocktails in hand just feels like the Cayman version of don't worry about tomorrow.

This time we ordered the oxtails and they were excellent. Tender flavorful and swimming in a rich spicy gravy with broad beans that tasted like somebody's Caribbean auntie actually cared about the pot. One order was more than enough for two people. The rice and peas fried plantain and slaw balanced everything out nicely.

The conch fritters were also delicious as usual. Crispy crunchy exterior with soft chewy conch inside and enough seasoning to keep things interesting without tasting like someone emptied the salt shaker into the batter.

Cocktails here continue to be dangerously effective. The Foxy Moxie was smooth fruity and absolutely not playing around with the alcohol content. The Red Berry Lemonade was equally tasty and had us feeling relaxed halfway through dinner. Whoever is bartending understands the assignment.

The only miss for us this visit were the fish tacos. Cayman Cabana used to serve them in soft shells and they were genuinely addictive. The current hard shell version just doesn't hit the same. The texture competes with the fish instead of complementing it and the magic is gone a bit. Bring back the soft shells please.

Overall though Cayman Cabana remains consistently good. Great portions good drinks tasty Caribbean food friendly atmosphere and a waterfront vibe that still makes it one of the easiest places to recommend in George Town.
