Uber HQ Review
1455 Market St #400, San Francisco, CA, United States
I'd used Uber a few years ago when they first started out in Toronto. My first 2 experiences were terrible. The drivers were no shows, but called to say they had car trouble and then I was billed for the ride. I got my money back. So I haven't used Uber in Toronto until a couple of months ago. I digress for a minute. I love using Uber in Miami. I've used it dozens of times and never a bad experience. The drivers and the cars are decent, helpful, and friendly, and know their routes. So I have a comparison.
Of the 20 trips I've taken so far, Toronto Uber drivers are hit or miss. Some were decent with acceptable cars. Others were nice with nice cars. The drivers with crappy cars were coincidently also not very friendly/courteous, and oddly enough had high body or breath odor. See the correlation?
The drivers with crappy cars also don't follow your directions (probably because I am female), then end up on a street under construction and then have the nerve to ask you if you want to get out and walk when you have paid for a Uber Pool or Uber X! Lately I've been getting a lot of crappy car - smelly driver stuff, and drivers who won't listen and just follow their Uber GPS (Waze is better).
Uber Toronto needs to get their driver act together. Stop hiring smelly drivers with crappy cars who can't follow simple directions. We can already get that with Beck Taxi. So other than saving a few dollars sometimes (surge pricing is ridiculous) there is no incentive to take a Uber.
