Trilogy On King Apartments Review
1100 King St W, Toronto, ON · Liberty Village & Parkdale
I’ve lived at 1100 King Street West since 2019 as one of the first tenants. Over the years, I’ve reported issues to help keep the building safe and respectful. But what happened on May 9, 2025, in the resident gym, and how building manager and staff handled it, left me shaken.
While working out, I was physically assaulted. One male resident grabbed my wrist mid-exercise and assaulted me when he tried to pull a dumbbell out of my hand. His friend who stood inches from my face and previously called me a slur was in my personal space yelling and laying claim to the weights. It was aggressive and threatening, and they acted together.
I reported it right away. “Manny” from building management watched the video footage and acknowledged the assault, but told me “I could have prevented” what happened by “asking if he was done with the weights.” I was stunned. That’s victim-blaming. Another manager named Peter backed him up. No concern for my safety. No accountability for the men who made me feel unsafe.
This isn’t the first time I’ve raised concerns here. Just last week, I saw a young man kicking a soccer ball against the gym mirrors for soccer practice. I asked him to stop. He brushed me off. I reported it because if that mirror falls, someone could be seriously hurt.
I’ve also reported repeated issues at the rooftop pool: broken glass, guests vomiting in the pool, or bringing beer bottles and breaking glasses. Every time I’ve spoken up, it’s been to protect shared spaces and tenants who pay to live here. What management does is shut down the amenities for all of us, even though we pay for them.
But this time, it was physical. And I’m sore, shaken, and disgusted by how management handled it. I’ve filed a police report and requested the security video footage be preserved.
Tenants should not have to fear being assaulted in their own gym or being blamed afterward. We deserve better management of the property and amenities from competent managers who know what they’re doing. Not just smiles and an agreeable nature.
