The Rec Room Roundhouse Review

I like this place for the games and the virtual reality set up. It's really enjoyable. All the need now is a batting cage! I also like the Kraken rum and cokes. What I don't like is the food! The salads are tasteless no matter which one you get. The popcorn chicken is the only thing that gets a pass, but only the plain one. Do not get the popcorn chicken with the sauce on it! As well, do not order a medium rare steak! They will give you a quickly seared steak that is not even at room temperature, so that the end result is a seared rare steak without the pinkish-red in the middle. The middle of the steak is completely chewy and raw; it makes you wonder what a rare steak would have arrived as. My guess is a well done steak would have been medium rare?! Also, the steak says "bone in" so it is a porterhouse steak, but about a 1/2 inch is missing on the cut! Mind you I did state my observations about the steak, and they easily took it off the bill, but it seems like they need to FIRE the chef. This set-up is far too nice to not have decent food. Stick to the basics, and do them very well. Hamburgers, chicken wings, fish and chips, and make them so delicious that people have a reason for coming back (besides the games). Lastly, get some other kinds of rum - Goslings and Bacardi come to mind, and for Gods sake get some good tequila selections!
