Shoppers Drug Mart Review

This Shoppers has a post office inside, unlike the one in my building at 1090 King Street W which doesn’t. I used it to send 14 pages to the CRA by registered mail. The service was fast, tracking was provided, and the total came to $24 CAD, which felt steep for just mailing paper.

Part of the cost was the oversized envelope I had to buy at the counter. They charged $4 for it, even though you can grab the same kind for about $0.50 elsewhere. Bring your own from Staples or another store and you’ll save around $4, bringing the total closer to $20. Think of it as avoiding the “luxury envelope tax.”

The mailing itself was reliable and quick, no issues at all. But if you are sending government documents often, it makes sense to keep a small stash of your own envelopes at home. Otherwise, you’ll keep paying Shoppers’ boutique pricing for cardboard.
