National Mattress Outlet Plus+ Review

So I sent photo's of the mattress to National mattress from several angles. However you can't see lasting impressions of your buttocks sunken into the mattress. To the naked eye, the mattress looks fine when your're not lying on it. It is impossible to prove using a photo that the Setra Perfect Sleeper Queen Firm Super Pillow top mattress is garbage.

Of course National Mattress and Serta both know this! So we looked on Youtube and saw a few videos on how these mattresses are constructed. We saw videos of the mattresses being taken apart and what was inside. The top foam layer will never betray the mattress in a photo while it is under warranty, because it is yellow foam, duh!

We took the advice in theses videos and ordered a latex 3 inch topper from Amazon and a cover to encase it.
When it arrived we ripped open the side of the mattress to remove the inferior yellow foam and disposed of it. We replaced it with the new latex topper and put the original mattress top back on. We then made the bed as regular and the dents in the buttocks area disappeared.

We are sleeping in peace and comfort once again NO thanks to National Mattress.

Having used the mattress daily, my mate who is 160lbs and I who am 135lbs are now dissatisfied. Who do you have to sleep with to get a consistently good mattress that will last years?!

The firmness support of the bed In the last few months has degraded. We have noticed we are sinking at the buttock area in the bed. The middle of the bed is still firm and created a hump. We have a a boxspring, but that’s not the problem. The mattress is defective after less than a year for two people weighing less than 160lbs each. Pictures enclosed.

How do you send a picture of what a mattress “feels” like? From the pictures we sent them, the mattress looks alright.

This is the same crap we went through with the Endy mattress. The Serta and Endy contain cheap foam. Cheap foam should not be used in a mattress (or couch for that matter) because it can’t stand the test of time. But as consumers how in the hell are we to know what we are really getting when we make a purchase?

This mattress is under warranty so we will have to see how the exchange process pans out for us and keep you updated.

Ordered a Serta Perfect Sleeper pillow top firm queen mattress on Oct 4th, used a $100 coupon,, got the mattress for just over $1000 , and they delivered it one day later. I have no complaints. This is the same mattress used at the Royal Fairmont Hotel, and Hilton Hotel. Very similar to its competitor - Sealy Posturepedic pillow top, yet you pay almost 100% less from National Mattress than if you buy it from the Fairmont online store, and a couple of hundred less than the Brick. Over the years I've slept like a baby on these mattresses and never thought to ask the hotels what they were. I also didn't think they were affordable to obtain.

We previously had an Endy mattress and got rid of it after a year. The foam in an Endy degrades quickly and cannot support your back over time because they have no coil system. The Endy is also uncomfortably hot. Even if you get a topper, and have a closely slatted bed frame to support the mattress, you just can't get a good painless, sweatless rest on the Endy mattress after a month or so.

The Serta Perfect sleeper has memory foam and gel, but the difference is 1,000 individually wrapped
coils delivers superior support and reduced motion transfer. That support extends to the edge
of the mattress. The super pillow top makes the mattress comfortable to lie on without breaking into a sweat. Add a down filled topper and a down filled comforter and you'll never want to leave your bed again.

National Matress has a great selection of matresses, and delivers quickly for free. If you like hotel beds and have a favorite, chances are they sell it for the best price. I highly recommend them.
