LCBO Review
85 Hanna Ave Unit 103, Toronto, ON · Liberty Village & Parkdale
Update: the manager, Michael was able to obtain several bottles of my fave Kindzmarauli from another store when asked in early Aug 2021. He called me when the delivery came in a few days later. I appreciated that.

The Liberty Village LCBO has me peeved. I've been going to this location only because it is close to where I live, but honestly... I'm not happy with the service. I feel compelled to write about it now.
The latest thing (July 2021) I find annoying is that I made a same day pick-up order online and paid online. When I got the email that the order was ready a few hours later I went in. I showed the order number and my driver's licence photo I keep on my mobile. Just as I had done numerous times since the 2020 pandemic started. However, this time the phone ID was not good enough. They wanted the physical driver's licence. I asked to talk to the manager hoping he would recognize me, but I had never seen "Michael" before. Michael said the LCBO changed the policy "three" months ago. So the LCBO could take my money online, but I would have to bring in a physical ID all of a sudden to pick up the liquor and I' m way past 19 years old. How inconvenient. I had to go back home and get my driver's licence to show to this antiquated establishment.
Even the police accept your licence on your phone because they have your information in a database. How about that LCBO, put you customers who are willing, into a database, give them some kind of wallet card they can put on their phone, and have them tap, or scan it to verify. Welcome to 2021! Welcome to progressive and true customer service. This government monopoly needs to get with the program - which is - people use their mobiles for payment and identification.
The other issue I have with this location is that they very rarely stock Kindzmarauli. Especially semi-sweet Mildiani Kindzmarauli. I have ordered it in the past for pick up from other LCBO's to be delivered to this location which takes about a week, but when it gets there I'm not alerted by email or telephone. I have to end up tracking down the order every time. This is poor customer service if I have to be constantly calling to find out where an order is. Most of the time it's there, but they haven't contacted me. That's just poor customer service.
As I said, I usually try to avoid this Hanna street location and go to the Queens Quay or Front Street location, but fixing these issues would make me a happier customer.
