GSH Medical Walk-In Clinic - Liberty Village on May 7, 2025 Visit

I visited GSH Medical Walk-In Clinic in the morning to get blood work done.

One thing to note upfront: even if you already have a requisition from your own family doctor, this clinic won’t accept it. You must first be seen by one of their in-house doctors to get a requisition through them.

I waited about an hour and 20 minutes to see a physician, who was fairly accommodating (I had to explain the bloodwork was preventative maintenance of health, not because I was symptomatic for anything) and got me the bloodwork requisition right away, which I then completed on-site.

After that, I informed the doctor that I’d like my results emailed directly to me. She asked me to pass that request along to the front receptionist. When I did, I was met with resistance.

The receptionist insisted that results would only be shared if the doctor decided to review them with me, despite my clear request to receive them personally.

I repeated myself, but it felt like pulling teeth. She was unfriendly, argumentative, and difficult to deal with, and it’s not the first time I’ve had a poor experience with her. On a previous visit, her attitude was just as unwelcoming. Even a basic smile would go a long way in improving the patient experience.

Overall, GSH is a decent walk-in clinic, especially if you live nearby. The doctors I have seen are competent and the medical service itself is reliable. But the front desk experience leaves a lot to be desired.

Dr. Chang, and/or Dr. Segal who own the clinic, would be wise to make sure the reception area matches the professionalism of the medical staff in the back. Good medical care should be matched with good customer service.
