Canvas Moncton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton Review

The rooftop of this hotel offers a great view of downtown Moncton, New Brunswick. We didn't stay in a room; instead, we went up to the 9th-floor rooftop to have some drinks and tapas-like food. Tapas-style cuisine is all they offer on the roof.

The good? The drinks. Although there was a black object that looked like a bug in my cocktail (I'm sure they discreetly removed it and brought it back), the drink was still delicious. My friend's beverage, which was a twist on a smoked Old Fashioned, was also remarkable. Finally, the service was friendly and attentive.

The bad? The water. The water smelled and tasted funky. We weren't sure if the issue was with the glasses, the decanter, or the water itself, so we avoided it. We don't have time for food poisoning. The food was also sub-par. The crab concoction was alright, and so was the other dish they served us, but on a scale of 1-10, I'd give them a solid 4.

In conclusion, go to the Canvas rooftop for drinks, the view, and the outdoor heated lamps. Eat somewhere else and bring your own water.
