Best Buy Review

I bought a Logitech wireless mouse in a box at Best Buy (Eaton Centre) for $90.00. When I got home and opened the box, the only thing inside it was a cord and two double A batteries. There was NO mouse. I examined the package and only then did I notice it was not factory sealed. I tried to call the store but there was no human answer. I called the 1-888 number and got connected to the USA Best Buy. The automated system had me on hold for 5 minutes until I excepted the call back. I got called back after 13 minutes, and spoke to a female who was useless. She put me through to the Canadian Best Buy Customer Service (no direct number btw). I gave all my information and explained what happed to "Christopher". He was pretty basic and unhelpful, and said since I purchased the product at a retail location I would have to go back and refund or exchange it at the customer service desk. He was unable to give me the store manager's name, offer me a gift card, or put me through to his superior because he kept saying he was unable to do it.
What a waste of my time, gas for my car, and parking fees! Oh I went back, but it was another 45 minutes out of my life that was unnecessary. Someone at Best Buy, most likely an employee, took the time to neatly remove the mouse out of the box, then rearrange the plastic,. batteries, and cord, and close the box back, then replace it on the shelf. What common thief has the time and gall to do all that? They would just try to steal the whole box. The idiot woman who sold me the box should have checked for a seal.
Customer service ended up giving me an apology, explanation of the amount of thefts in the store and a $25 gift card. Oh, and they didn't have anymore of that particular mouse so I got a refund on my credit card. I'm supposed to be happy right? Well my time alone is worth more than $25.00 and I still need a wireless mouse, so no I'm not content with a crappy $25.00 gift card from Best Buy.
Best Buy, answer your store telephone. Allow Canadian's to call a Canadian number. Have you sales staff check to see if there is a factory seal on the boxes of the items you sell. If not , have them look in the box to see if the stuff is ok, and then offer a discount on the tampered with items. DO YOUR JOB and make your customers happy! It's really that simple.
